Backstay / Inner forestay adjustors are suitable for removable inner forestays. They can be made to order in a number of sizes current range is from 6mm wire to 16mm wire. They incorporate a highfield lever with a turnbuckle set into the centre. They enable the inner forestay to be taken on and off, and the turnbuckle allows them to be adjusted. They are supplied for high performance yachts in hard anodised aluminium with or without a turnbuckle. They are machined from solid using high quality materials for minimum weight.
The first of these levers were develop for the backstay of Il Moro di Venezia in the 1992 America's Cup. They were subsequently used by various AC teams including Team NZ and Alinghi in subsequent events.
The levers are a classic highfield arrangement which can be locked so as not to come undone when slack.
